TECHNICIAN TRAINING & CERTIFICATION
1. Core Technical Competencies
Fiber Optic Fundamentals: Understanding of single-mode/multi-mode fibers, light propagation, and attenuation factors.
Splicing Excellence: Hands-on proficiency with fusion splicing machines, cleavers, and splice tray management.
Testing & Measurement: Operational mastery of Optical Time-Domain Reflectometers (OTDR) and Optical Power Meters (OPM) for link validation.
2. Safety & Field Readiness Training
Working at Heights: Mandatory safety certification for ladder handling, pole climbing, and proper usage of full-body fall harnesses.
Electrical Hazard Awareness: Training on distinguishing telecom cables from power lines and managing high-voltage safety clearances.
First Aid & Emergency Response: Basic life support protocols, emergency evacuation procedures, and field incident reporting.
3. Post-Training Evaluation
Practical Assessment: Timed field simulation of fiber cutting, splicing, and enclosure sealing to industry standards.
Theoretical Examination: Written or digital test covering troubleshooting flows, safety codes, and corporate deployment specifications.
